Miggy Mac
“Miggy” Macguire is the founder of Miggy Mac. Miggy has been involved within jewellery industrial since 2012. With his background in the sourcing of coloured gemstones to be used in jewellery designs for numerous independent jewellery designers. Miggy is completely self-taught and learnt the gemstone trade from studying books and immersing himself into the hustle and bustle of Thailand’s famous gemstone markets. Thailand has long been known as the gemstone capital of the world. With gem traders from all over the world converging on the two main markets to offer their gems for sale.
After 4 years of learning the gem trade in Thailand. Miggy quickly built up a reputation for offering independent jewellery designers small, but high-quality parcels of gemstones. The jewellery designers that bought their gems from Miggy would often show him the finish designs. Miggy would then suggest that they made little, but important changes to improve the gemstones beauty within the design. It was one of these jewellery designers that joked “You should start your own jewellery collections” the rest they say is history!
